Priscilla Shirer's Top 10 Habits For Christian Success
Priscilla Shirer is a well-known author, speaker, and pastor. She has written several books that have been bestsellers, and the main focus of her ministry is to teach the Word of God in a way that’s easy to understand and apply to everyday life. In this post, we will discuss some of the habits she believes are essential for Christian success so you can take them on board if you want your life to go further than it has before!
Prayer is the most important thing you can do as a Christian. Prayer is talking to God, and He listens! There are many ways to pray, but it’s always good to start with praise and thanksgiving. Thankfulness helps us feel close to God because it reminds us that we can trust Him with all our needs and desires. Credit tells Him how much you appreciate what He has done for you.
When we communicate with others, we often ask them questions or tell them things about ourselves so that they can understand better who we are as individuals. When it comes time to pray, use this same approach by sharing your thoughts and feelings about life with God each day through prayer. You’ll find out why later! Also, please ensure that everything else gets put aside for at least 10 minutes every day so that this particular time together remains sacred.
2. Finances and possessions
It’s important to pray about your finances and possessions. God wants us to be wise with our money and not worry about those things. He wants us to give generously and freely from what He has given us. Don’t be a slave to your possessions, but don’t hoard them either! Use your ability to add value to others and multiply your income. 3. Time management
Are you a good time manager? Are you taking control of your time and ensuring it is used to produce the results God wants for your life? If you still need to, please make some changes.
Take control of your schedule by prioritizing and planning. Schedule time for things that are important to you, such as spending time with family or going to church. Schedule time for items that are not as enjoyable but are necessary, like fulfilling work responsibilities or paying bills on time. When possible, block off large chunks of uninterrupted time when it’s okay if nothing gets done. Those times may be used for writing or praying over a day instead of getting distracted by little demands from outside sources, such as social media notifications popping up all over the place!
4. Self-worth/confidence and humility
When you have a healthy sense of self-worth and confidence, it’s easier to be humble. It’s a simple concept: If you feel confident about yourself and what you do, then you don’t need to boast about your accomplishments or talk down to others. You can walk into the room with self-assurance and say, “Hi! I am who I am. This is what I do well. It’s been an honor serving alongside you today! Hope we see each other again soon!”
Humility should never be confused with weakness or submissiveness—it’s not an excuse for being pushover or apologetic for who God made us be as His sons and daughters. Humility is recognizing that we are nothing without Christ but everything with Him. When we understand this truth in our hearts, our confidence grows exponentially because we know that everything He has given us comes from His hand alone—not ours—and, therefore, should not be boasted about but shared freely out of gratitude for such amazing grace.
5. Spending daily time with the Lord
Spending daily time with the Lord is one of the most important habits you can develop as a Christian. It is essential to your spiritual growth and maturity. To make this a priority, you must understand what it means to spend time with God.
The Bible tells us that we are created for a relationship with our Creator, and if we do not spend time each day getting into His presence, then our life will not be fulfilling or meaningful because He would have left out an important part.
There are many ways we can spend time in God’s presence, such as praying, reading the Bible, singing worship songs, or listening to sermons/messages on audio devices when driving or commuting from place to place. However, I believe that simply spending quality time meditating on scripture and soaking up His goodness through prayer will help create a habit of daily devotionals for years to come!
6. Developing a servant’s heart
Being a servant is not about being subservient. It’s about serving others and being humble. And it’s not about you! It’s all about caring for the needs of others before your own. The Bible teaches that “true greatness consists in being great in that one can serve his fellow men. A true leader is someone willing to lay down their life for others and make them become better people than themselves because they have been touched by love and kindness. This trait will help you succeed because when you serve others, there will always be someone helping you along the way. Servant leadership involves more than simply caring for those around us; it also requires us to ensure that those around us are cared for properly. When we truly love people as Christ loved us, our lives will change forever!
7. Keeping the right company
This habit is so important and a common problem for many of us. We need to hang out with people who will encourage, inspire, and lift us.
We don’t want to hang out with people who are negative or critical. They will steal our joy and make it harder for us to achieve our goals. Instead, seek out people who will encourage you and help you stay accountable for your goals—your spouse or best friend can fill that role if they don’t have time to hang out regularly. You may even want to consider joining a mastermind group where everyone meets regularly to share their struggles and successes so they can help each other succeed!
You also want to avoid hanging around people who aren’t pursuing the same things that you’re seeking—this could lead them down a path that doesn’t line up with yours (unintentionally), which could cause friction later on down the road when one person decides they’d instead pursue something else than continue working toward the same goal together.”
8. Spending time with your family
Spending time with your family is the most important thing you can do.
Your family is a blessing from God, and it’s His plan for you to know them and spend quality time with them. It’s a safe place to be yourself when no one else is looking. It’s a support system that will encourage you when times are hard, celebrate alongside you when times are good, and help lift others around you too!
9. Learning and growing from our mistakes.
Priscilla Shirer had the opportunity to share her wisdom with a group of Christian leaders. In her speech, she emphasized that we must learn from our mistakes. She said we must understand that every mistake is an opportunity for growth and learning.
She went on to say that it’s okay to make mistakes it’s necessary if we want to learn how to improve ourselves! We cannot grow or change without acknowledging where we have gone wrong to move forward toward bettering ourselves today and tomorrow. And while making these mistakes might be something some people would rather avoid altogether (especially if they think they can get away with not doing so), Priscilla Shirer says that this isn’t going to happen: “We all make mistakes.”
10. Being too hard on yourself/not being realistic about your limitations
If you’re too hard on yourself, you’re probably not being realistic about your limitations. While being driven and ambitious is essential, it’s also important to recognize that we all have weaknesses—and that it’s okay.
Being too hard on yourself can lead to self-hatred and a lack of confidence in the future. It can also cause you to lose sight of the progress you’ve made so far or feel like there is no hope for change because “you’ll never be good enough.” But this isn’t true!
When we don’t allow ourselves space for failure, we tend to set unrealistic expectations for ourselves and end up disappointed when we fail (which happens more than we’d like).
I hope this list inspires you. I know that many of these things can seem daunting, but the little things in our lives, like eating well and getting enough sleep that, helps us make healthy choices. The same goes for developing good godly habits—it all starts with a tiny change!

I moved from the Caribbean to Florida a few years ago and had big goals, but it was just a dream for the first few months. Within 90 days of moving to America, I was in downtown Orlando, Florida, begging for $1 on the street when I went broke with a wife & son to take care of. I was forced to give up my apartment and sleep on my family members’ floor for months. I was flat-out ashamed of myself, as I’m supposed to be a man who provides & takes care of his family.
That experience made me cry out of desperation, BUT it forced me into a corner that made me look in the mirror to make a change in my life, which is what I did. I learned all I could think about life insurance, money & entrepreneurship. Within a few months, I applied the knowledge and became a life insurance broker, entrepreneur & blogger who helped change the lives of thousands of clients in America; as an r result, I was featured on FOX, CBS & NBC.
